LAVANOX-Serag® Wound Irrigation Solution and LAVANOX-Serag® Wound Spray are medical products based on an electrochemically activated mineral salt solution with <0.08% sodium hypochlorite/hypochlorous acid (NaOCl/HOCl). The sodium hypochlorite/hypochlorous acid contained in LAVANOX-Serag® ensures safe preservation and makes LAVANOX-Serag® a well-tolerated and efficient wound irrigation solution. The mechanical effect of LAVANOX-Serag® ensures thorough cleansing of the wound environment and creates an environment conducive to healing. In addition, unpleasant wound odours are quickly and reliably eliminated.
The preservative sodium hypochlorite/hypochlorous acid (NaOCl/HOCl) reduces a growth of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria (e.g. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, MRSA and MRE), viruses and fungi in the solution.
LAVANID® 1/2 - wound irrigation solutions are suitable:
A wound should first be cleaned of dirt, blood and coatings with wound irrigation solution every time the dressing is changed. For this purpose, the affected areas are rinsed with LAVANID® 1/2 wound irrigation solution. The solution can be applied by unscrewing the bottle and pouring out the solution. Alternatively, the solution can be removed aseptically via the stopper using a spike. A spike is not included in the delivery.
LAVANID® 1/2 - wound irrigation solutions are colourless and thus allow an unrestricted assessment of the wound condition, which makes wound care easier. The painless application ensures high patient acceptance.
Ringer's solution (isotonic electrolyte solution consisting of sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride 2 H₂O, water for injection), macrogol, polyhexanide 0.02 % (LAVANID® 1) or polyhexanide 0.04 % (LAVANID® 2).
The use-by period after first opening is 2 months.
